Originally from Wadsworth, Ohio, my husband's work brought us to Plainfield, Indiana in 1992. Bill and I have been married for 25 years and are the proud parents of 3 great kids! Tony, 21 is my inspiration for going back to college. Emma, 19 just completed her freshman year at Ball State University as a French education major. Rachel is 17 and will be a high school senior in the fall. She is busy with Student Council, NHS, and the Belles et Beaux show choir.
I started working at Plainfield High School 4 years ago. I was hired as a one-on-one aid for an autistic student. I was to attend all of his classes, including algebra. Have I mentioned my math phobia? Anyway, I decided that I was finally going to learn it. I actually did the assigned homework, took the quizzes and tests and lo and behold, I "got it". Not only did I get it, I enjoyed it! So I continued taking math classes at the high school for the soul purpose of being a resource for the students in the special education department who needed math help. I took geometry, algebra II, and precalculus. Now, I'm studying math at the college level.
